My Odyssey

Up to this year my travels had taken me through 28 of the 50 states, so I decided this year to start seeing the remaining 22. This year I decided on the 6 New England states and Delaware. I also wanted to revisit Washington, DC in order to photograph the name of my third friend engraved on the Vietnam Memorial. Mission accomplished. When I was telling people about my plans, several suggested taking the Cat Ferry from Bar Harbor, ME to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. They told me this was a MUST. It sounded like such a great idea, that I decided to do it. They were right, it was a great experience. My travels took me through eleven states and into Canada twice. I hope you enjoy viewing these pages as much as I did making them.

Port Kent, NY from the back of the car ferry crossing Lake Champlain to Burlington, VT. This was my first trip on a car ferry. Very satisfying.	Burlington, VT on the east side of Lake Champlain. I'll say it here. Vermont was the place I loved most. I could easily have stayed both weeks there.

Robert Frost's Vermont: This was the most inspirational part of my trip, and it was unplanned. I was sitting in the library waiting for a computer. I saw this book on Vermont history and came across an article on Robert Frost. He's always been my favorite, so a few questions and I was off to Robert Frost country. I had miles to go before I slept.	Downtown Bangor, Maine, former home of Stephen King, my favorite author.
	Canada's Ocean Playground, Nova Scotia, It is truly beautiful. Dee, you are lucky to have grown up there.
