~The Greatest Gift~

The greatest gift that we can give
is the gift of our time.
Out of the minutes that we live
those spent with friends -- sublime.

Times we spend to visit the sick
or bake a pie or cake,
aiding in a problem to lick,
a minute for their sake.

Or to write just a little note
to say how much we care.
Or dial them up on the phone
saying, 'wish we were there'.

To write a letter out of love
or take them out to lunch.
To offer prayers to Him above,
when they get in a crunch.

It doesn't cost a single dime
to give loved ones a lift.
Spending some of our precious time
to give the greatest gift.
