My dream took place in Honolulu
A happy dream turned so sad
The way it began sure could fool you
With her again made me glad
Twenty-seven and one-half years since
We visited here six nights
The pleasure we shared would make you wince
As it took us to new heights
My dream brought us back there once again
My expectations were high
To be together as we had been
So elated I could fly
My dream then became so nightmarish
I broke into a cold sweat
The only woman that I cherish
Turned and got back on the jet
'Fore she left, she admitted the lie
She didn't really love me
What she had to say just made me cry
"There could never be a 'We'"
No reasons offered and none recieved
The dream just dissipated
A dream so real that I must believe
My feelings are negated
And so my dream represents the truth
That she will never be mine
Unlike those wondrous dreams of my youth
I've lost a love so divine.
