~On Turning Sixty~

Now that my age is prefixed with a six
I find myself in yet another fix
All these body parts, nothing wants to click
Like a watch that's stopped, nothing seems to tick

Try to remember, memory gets mixed
Each day new problems, which cannot be fixed
Results of the life-style which I picked
And all too easily, off, I get ticked

All through my life I got in my licks
Recently, though, I forget all the tricks
Now my back is out and my knees have cricks
My mind say, "yes", but my body says, "Nix!"

Like birthday candles without any wicks
or free-throw shooters tossing up the bricks
Try all the new stuff, just can't get my kicks
For all the aches and pains, get me my Vicks!

NOTE:
This was written at age 60 with tongue in cheek. I really feel pretty good for an old man. heheheheh (now 65, soon 66)
At 63 I took a trip around the world, and then wrote a book about it. The link to view the cover, notes on the author,
read a few excerpts and purchase, if that pleases you is Trafford Publishing

Music is "Stayin' Alive"
