Imagine my surprise uopn being stranded in downtown Erie with no brakes on Arvie, my motor home, and finding it was Celebrate Erie weekend. I hadn't been to this event for several years. I spent parts of Friday, Saturday and Sunday walking around, taking photos and enjoying the music.
Erie’s premier downtown festival, Celebrate Erie, takes place the third weekend of August. State Street is blocked off to vehicular traffic from 4th to 12th Streets, celebrating all that Erie has to offer; food, music, children’s events and the performing arts all in the heart of the downtown district. A large display of fireworks ends the festivities on Sunday evening. Sorry, I did not stick around for the fireworks.
The Bands and The Bikes
The two top photos are a band performing on the 12th Street stage sponsered by a local radio station. The band in the lower four photos are on the Main Stage at 5th and State. Additional music was performed at the Gazebo in the west park. There was music everywhere.
Nearly all the bike are by Harley Davidson, however a couple of foreigners crashed the gate.

Food and Drink and Dancing
Of course at an event like this food and drink were plentiful. We have our own Irish Pub on lower State Street. Whenever there is an Irish Pub in the area, there must be Irish dancers nearby.
