These are photos taken on a couple of short road trips in October 2005. Most were taken in Pennslyvania, but a few came from New York State.
On Sunday I picked up my friend, John, to take a drive to see the autumn colors. Below is what we saw. Photos don't do it justice, however, as the sun was hiding most of the day.

Nature Wins

Grape leaves are turning brown
soon on the earth they'll be found
Losing their coats of green
coats of snow there'll soon be seen

Vendors seen by the way
pumpkins sitting in array
causing us all to say
Halloween is on its way

Fallen leaves on the ground
beautiful with crunching sounds
Autumn comes, autumn goes
on the leading edge of snows

Brought to us by north winds
sending chills through backs and shins
shaking bones and chatter chins
telling all that nature wins

A park in Dunkirk, NY

Boaters getting in a last sail

Lake Erie bluffs

Autumn color

From green to vibrant

A mountainside array of color

The forest is alive with color

The hills are alive with the sound of color

Mountinside trees and two impromptu waterfalls after a morning rain

Gulls feeding on the Allegheny River

Ducks swimming there

Color above the grey river

Red berries and apples add their color

Halloween yard display

A final shot before heading home

Music is "Autumn Leaves"
